Title: Research Portfolio Manager II

Bio: I am excited to run for the Staff Senate. I currently work as a Portfolio Research Manager II in the Project Management Office. Previously, I have worked as a grant specialist in the Beadle Business Center and the HAPPI Business Center. I worked closely with the Centers for Plant Science Innovation, Biotechnology, and Redox, and with the Departments of Biochemistry and Agronomy/Horticulture faculty, on pre-award proposals and post-award financial support. Prior to this, I was a project coordinator in a microbiome lab working on a grant-funded project. I enjoy being a part of research during my time at UNL. I am a Nebraska native and an alumnus of UNL. My strengths are achiever, relator, harmony, maximizer, and belief. We face many challenges and problems that must be solved with limited resources. There is a need to come together and work as a collaborative team to address the problems our institution is facing. In 2025, I was honored to receive the Staff Senate Research Impact Award and the Biochemistry Award for Excellence in Staff Performance. As an MBA student, I am learning the value of leadership and the impact of being an effective follower. I look forward to the opportunity to serve on the staff senate and work with others to ensure it has a positive impact on the staff experience.
