Title: Human Resources Specialist
Bio: I have over 17 years of experience in higher education as an Academic Advisor and Human Resources professional assisting students, faculty, and staff. In an advocacy role, I have had the opportunity to work as a diversity activist on multiple employee resource groups, a Title IX Coordinator, and a liaison between students and faculty to ensure students success.
As an HR professional, I have had the privilege to advocate for the needs of employees while promoting employee resources to enhance and improve the UNL employment experience. I am able to bring diverse groups together to discover a unifying solution by using my strong advocacy, problem-solving skills and innate curiosity. My ability to actively listen and understand the needs of a diverse workforce is one of my strongest strengths.
It is critical that the Staff Senate be comprised of enthusiastic people who desire to make a positive impact, foster open dialogue, and consider the needs of all employees during cultural and economic shifts.
Because of my passion to serve, my commitment to the UNL mission, and my desire to represent the outstanding UNL staff, I believe I would be a valuable contribution to the UNL Staff Senate. If elected to Staff Senate, I would be committed to the mission of the Staff Senate while striking a balance between employee needs and institutional policies.
