Center for Transformative Teaching
I’m a senior instructional designer at the Center for Transformative Teaching that has been working at UNL for almost 5 years. In that time, I’ve advocated for staff needs by being part of the Staff Senate Development Committee, acting as a Diversity Ambassador to help improve hiring practices at the university, and leading the UESS DEI Committee which was tasked with providing professional development opportunities for all staff within those units. My involvement in staff advocacy has largely been driven by how often I’ve seen key decisions about university operations be made without input from staff that are often negatively impacted. As a senator, my priorities would be ensuring transparency of decision making processes, advocating for policies that support the needs of all staff, and reducing discrepancies in treatment between office/service and managerial/professional staff.
