Unit: Center for Science, Mathematics, and Computer Education

Job title: Associate Director

Bio: Erin Ingram brings ten years of experience as a staff member advancing equitable education, community‑engaged scholarship, and staff well‑being across the University of Nebraska–Lincoln. A three‑time Husker graduate, Erin earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education, followed by both her master’s and Ph.D. in entomology from UNL. She has worked on both City and East Campus. In her work as a community engagement coordinator within CASNR and Nebraska Extension, she built strong partnerships with schools, nonprofits, state agencies, and community organizations across the state. Erin now serves as the Associate Director of the Center for Science, Mathematics, and Computer Education in CAS, where she continues to support collaborative, community‑centered initiatives that expand access to meaningful STEM learning opportunities for Nebraskans.

Erin is a passionate advocate for staff empowerment and recognition. She recently led a campus‑wide effort urging the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor to revisit the criteria for the Exceptional Excellence in Staff Award, advocating for recognition that fully reflects the diverse, mission‑critical contributions of staff—and pushing the university to move away from unsustainable expectations of “above and beyond” labor. Erin is committed to strengthening staff voice, improving institutional culture, and ensuring that UNL remains a place where every staff member is valued for their expertise, leadership, and service to the university and the broader Nebraska community.
