Bio:  Hello, District 7! My name is Jenn Rutt, and I am honored to be one of your current District 7 Senators. I am seeking re-election to the Staff Senate to continue the great work and momentum we’ve created over the past few years since our founding. As Co-Chair of the Personnel Affairs Committee for the past three years, I have helped this committee set standard operating procedures, build tools for tracking progress on initiatives, and worked with peers in various task groups to address staff concerns from across the institution. Additionally, I have served as a Co-Lead for our district during this past year, helping to coordinate our district town halls and connect with R&I Leadership. I am passionate about staff having a voice! Previous to my time on Staff Senate, I was a member of the Exploratory Committee that worked to establish the Senate, a former member of the Chancellor’s Commission on the Status of Women (representing staff), as well as participated and held office in the University Association for Administrative Development (UAAD) focusing on staff development. In addition to my passion and commitment to elevating and advocating for staff voices, I believe broad representation of our district is important. I represent an auxiliary unit within our district that is outside of the main Research Administration core and have worked to make sure issues and initiatives relevant to our district have included this perspective.
