Job title: Director External Relations
Bio: Jessie Brophy is seeking a second term on the UNL Staff Senate to continue advancing the meaningful, people-centered work she has helped shape over the past three years on the Executive Committee. She first served as Vice President of External Affairs, where she authored the Senate’s first-ever Strategic Plan and Annual Report. She then served as Vice President of Internal Affairs, supporting the co creation of the Task Force on Workplace Culture and Engagement and the Town Hall Feedback Report informed by the voices of more than 500 staff members who participated in the 2025 summer Listening Sessions. In her third year, Jessie has served as Staff Senate President, representing staff as a voting member of the Academic Planning Committee throughout the budget reduction process, contributing to two major UNL leadership search committees, and building strong, trust-based relationships with campus leaders across the institution along with any other initiatives. While the Staff Senate has accomplished much over the past three years, Jessie believes there is still important work ahead. She is motivated to continue serving because she believes deeply in compassionate leadership, collaborative problem solving, and elevating staff perspectives in ways that strengthen the entire university community. Her commitment, heart, and steady, inclusive leadership style make her a strong advocate for staff and for the mission of the Staff Senate.
