Unit: Center for Science, Math and Computer Education

Job title: Event and Outreach Specialist

Bio: I am deeply committed to advocating for and supporting staff across our institution, and I am seeking election to the Staff Senate to expand and strengthen this work. Over the past six years, I have served as Co-Chair of the Chancellor’s Commission for Gender and Sexual Identities, where I have advanced initiatives supporting LGBTQA+ students, faculty, and staff and helped elevate inclusive policies on campus. In this role, I have also had the opportunity to serve as an ex officio member of Staff Senate, giving me firsthand insight into its priorities, processes, and impact. Having worked at the university for 14 years, I have seen firsthand how essential it is for staff voices to be meaningfully represented across campus to guide equitable, responsible, and well-informed institutional action. These experiences have reinforced my belief in shared governance and inclusive representation, and they have prepared me to be a strong advocate ensuring that staff perspectives are heard, valued, and reflected in decisions that shape our university community.
