I am interested in joining the staff senate because I want to be involved in the process of continuing to make UNL a great place for staff to work. I have served on several local boards in town and also have served on staff council in the College of Education and enjoyed my time collaborating and implementing new ideas. Moving forward, I see opportunities for greater collaboration across departments and between staff and faculty. I see the staff senate as a way of becoming more connected with the broader school and developing a better understanding of the challenges faced by my colleagues. It also serves as an organized way of potentially addressing these challenges. It is especially important now to be able to support each other due to the ongoing social and political struggles with which we are faced. I would be grateful for the opportunity to represent our unit and to serve the greater UNL community.
